Wrapped in the Israeli flag

I found this article while reading the news today:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6741220/

Among other things, it states that military interrogators at Guantanamo wrapped the prisoners in Israeli flags while interrogating them, as well as playing loud rock music and strobe lights.

Gee thanks, guys.

I see this as inflaming an already bad situation. Anybody see this as a legitimate thing to do?

I can't decide whether to be amused or outraged that the Israeli flag is apparently considered an internationally recognized torture device.

Hey, if the FBI says that their tortur... I mean, *interragation* isn't kosher, than I think it ain't kosher.

Otherwise, shouldn't people be more concerned about freezing and heating people as a torture device a little more than a flag? Obviously, it's demoralizing as all hell, but that's what you expect out of interragation- demoralize the guy until he talks. What we don't want is physical abuse. I don't think demoralizing him should be high on the red flag list.

But as bad as Israel's name is from the things the ISRAELI gov't does, it's really not cool to defame Israel even more with things AMERICA does!

I have serious wonderings as to whether or not the flag thing is true.

I remain skeptical.

Compared to some of the other accusations, the bit with the flag, music & lights seems pretty mild. And of course, Bush denies all. I would rather see the entire population of political prisoners released than us trying to get stale information out of them. It'd be nice for the US to be off Amnesty International's list.

It's kinda amusing that Israeli flags are being used as torture devicesw, but I'm not in favor of it.
